Along with the announcement came the reveal of official console cover plates, which are also set to release in the coming months.

The console cover plates allow PS5 owners to change up the look of their PlayStation 5 consoles — both digital and disc editions — by replacing the standard white option with a different aesthetic.

Read on for our full guide on what colors are joining the lineup, pricing, availability and more.

What colors are available?

The PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller is now available in six colors. These include white, Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple.

The new console covers will also be offered in the same six colors, with white being the option that comes with the console.

There’s no word on whether PlayStation fans will be able to purchase the console with a different base color scheme in the future, so for now, consoles will have to be purchased in white along with a separate purchase of a cover if buyers want a different color.

How much do the new accessories cost?

For controllers, the currently available white and Midnight Black DualSense controllers retail for $69.99 each in the U.S. while the Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple and Cosmic Red, which is available as well, retail for $74.99 each.

The five new console cover varieties will retail in the U.S. for $54.99 per set of two plates (top and bottom). They’re available in digital and disc versions, so be sure to purchase the one that fits the console you own.

When will the new colors and the console covers be available?

For the U.S., the three new DualSense controller color varieties will be available starting Jan. 22, 2022, according to retailer listings. The standard white, Midnight Black and Cosmic Red are already available for purchase.

The console covers are available for pre-order only through the PlayStation Direct online store as of right now. They are listed for release on Jan. 21, 2022, via the PlayStation Direct store.

The Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple covers will go up for pre-order later in 2022, according to the PlayStation Blog.
